Kolkata:The detective department of Kolkata Police (KP) arrested six members of an inter-state Iranian kepmar gang for allegedly robbing a goldsmith of gold ornaments weighing about 147 grams posing as CBI and KP sleuths. The goldsmith, Pradip Das, was robbed in July when the accused intercepted him for conducting a security check at Muchipara. The gang had its base in Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Madhya Pradesh. The gang members, linked to cases of loot in Muchipara, Gariahat, Bowbazar, and Burrabazar since Aug, were arrested from their hideout in Howrah on Dec 12. tnn
