Bangladesh Violence: Incidents of atrocities on people of Hindu community continue in Bangladesh. Which is being condemned from India to America. But despite this, the interim government of Bangladesh’s Muhammad Yunus is continuously blaming India to hide its failures. Nahid Islam, information and broadcasting advisor in the interim government of Bangladesh, targeted India and said, ‘India is trying to influence the internal politics of Bangladesh by interfering in its domestic affairs.’
It is noteworthy that Nahid Islam is the main face of Bangladesh student movement. Due to which the government of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was overthrown on August 5. But even after three months of the fall of Sheikh Hasina’s government, the situation in Bangladesh did not become normal. Whereas during the rule of the interim government of Muhammad Yunus, a lot of atrocities have been committed on the minorities in the country, especially the people of Hindu community and this situation still persists in Bangladesh. Regarding which India had asked the interim government of Bangladesh to ensure the safety of Hindus and other minorities in the country.
What did Nahid Islam say by writing a post against India?,
After India’s comment on atrocities on Hindus, Nahid Islam posted and wrote, ‘Promoting anti-Bangladesh and anti-Muslim statements will ultimately work against India’s national interests. India’s ruling class is engaged in divisive politics and anti-Bangladesh rhetoric. Bangladesh has historical and cultural relations with West Bengal, Tripura and Assam, they are our stakeholders.
Nahid claimed in his tweet, ‘During the rebellion in Bangladesh, students of West Bengal and Delhi stood in solidarity with it and also protested against the atrocities of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The Hindutva government of India does not want such democratic relations and harmony.
Situation of Hindus worsened after Sheikh Hasina’s coup
After the overthrow of Sheikh Hasina’s government in Bangladesh, a lot of atrocities were committed against the minorities, especially the Hindu community. There were continuous reports of attacks on Hindus and their religious places in the country. At the end of November last month, former ISKCON Chittagong chief and leader Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari was arrested on charges of treason.
Nahid talked about establishing new relations with India
Regarding the attacks and atrocities on Hindus, Nahid Islam said, ‘By using the narrative of oppression of minorities, India is working to bring Awami League back to power in Bangladesh and stop the democratic and nation building process of Bangladesh.’ Nahid said, ‘We have been insisting from the beginning that India should stop looking at Bangladesh through the prism of Awami League and establish a new relationship based on equality, fairness and mutual respect.’
