Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Emergency’ is being opposed in Punjab.
Mumbai. Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Emergency’ has been released across the country. But the film is being opposed in Punjab. Kangana is being accused of defaming Sikhs. The owners of theaters in Punjab have refused to screen the film. Kangana has objected to this and called it exploitation. Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) workers are protesting outside theaters in many cities of Punjab. Earlier, committee chairman Harjinder Singh Dhami had written a letter to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Thursday and demanded a ban on the film in the state.
Kangana Ranaut has reacted to this and has written that this is a complete exploitation of art and artist. He wrote on X, “This is complete harassment of art and artist. Reports are coming from many cities of Punjab that these people are not allowing emergency screening. I have great respect for all religions and after studying and growing up in Chandigarh, I have closely observed and followed Sikhism.”

Kangana Ranaut called the protest propaganda
Kangana Ranaut further wrote, “This is a complete lie and propaganda to tarnish my image and harm my film ‘Emergency’.” Kangana has written this tweet in response to the X-post of All India Kisan Congress President Sukhpal Singh Khair. While supporting SGPC, Sukhpal has appealed not to watch Kangana’s film.
Sukhpal Singh supported SGPC
Sukhpal Singh had written on X, “I support SGPC’s demand that Kangana Ranaut criticized without knowing the contribution of farmers and Sikhs towards our country. The film ‘Emergency’ made under his direction should be banned. SGPC is our elected representative body and Bhagwant Mann should take immediate steps to ban the film which shows Sikhs in a bad light and defames our Punjab and its people – Khaira.”
