A ‘city of the future’ is being built in Japan. It has been named Woven City and it is being prepared by car company Toyota. Modern technology will be used extensively in this city being built in the foothills of Mount Fiji. From robots to autonomous racing cars will be seen here. People will start settling here by the end of this year. Initially there is a plan to settle 100 people here.

The city plan was made 5 years ago

Toyota had announced plans to settle this city in 2020. Work started here on February 23, 2021. The place where this city is being established, earlier there used to be a plant of Toyota Motor East Japan. The work on the first phase of the Woven City was completed in October last year. Now preparations are being made to launch it.

Every house will be equipped with AI

Technology is being fully used in this city of the future. Here robots will be used to complete daily tasks. Drones will be used for the safety of the people living here, while interactive pet robots will also be seen to help the elderly. Artificial intelligence, hydrogen energy and other technologies will be seen in every house here. There will not only be arrangements for people to stay here but it will also be a living lab. This means that people will be able to create technology as per their wish.

100 people will be settled first

After the completion of the first phase of work, 100 people will now be settled in this city. All of them could be Toyota employees. After this, there is a plan to gradually settle 2,200 people here. It will not be opened to the general public in the first two years. Now the second phase work has started here.
