New Delhi. Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ is a classic cult film of Bollywood. Even though this film did not earn much at the box office, today it has a special place in the hearts of the audience. Many stories from the set of this film are famous. Vasan Bala, who was recently the assistant director of the film, told that he had left the shooting of the film midway after a fight with Anurag Kashyap.
While talking to Mashable India, Vasan Bala told about his fight with Anurag Kashyap. He says that he had a fight with director Anurag Kashyap in the middle of the shooting of the film. He says, ‘After 50 days of shooting, Anurag sir and I had a fight. This fight happened when we were traveling with actor Piyush Mishra. Eventually, Piyush Bhai became so upset with our heated argument that he stopped the car and threw us out midway.
The relationship did not break even after a fight
‘Monica O My Darling’ director Vasan Bala says that even after this fight, there has been no sourness in the relationship between him and Anurag Kashyap. He further says that Anurag Kashyap has supported him a lot in his career. According to director Vasan Bala, ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ director Anurag Kashyap has a big heart.
Got a big break because of Anurag Kashyap
After leaving ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’, Vasan Bala’s career took an interesting turn. Anurag Kashyap had suggested Bala’s name to British filmmaker Michael Winterbottom, who was looking for an assistant director for his 2011 film ‘Trishna’. He tells that Michael had sent an email to Anurag and then the director asked him if he wanted to work.
Vasan Bala gives credit to producer Michael Winterbottom for teaching him the art of film making. He says that while working on this project, he became aware of the nuances of film making.
