Meghan Markle’s announcement of her upcoming netflix lifestyle series With Love, Meghan has sparked mixed reactions online, with many royal fans criticizing the show for being “out of touch.”
The trailer, posted on Markle’s Instagram, shows her in her Montecito kitchen and garden, interacting with guests, including Mindy Kaling. Meghan said, “I have been so excited to share this with you! I hope you love the show as much as I loved making it.”
The series is set to launch on January 15, having been teased last March when Meghan launched her brand, American Riviera Orchard.
Mixed reactions from fans
As the trailer launched, royal fans didn’t seem as enthusiastic as Meghan. Many took to social media platform
“Uh no thanks,” one user wrote, while another bluntly commented, “This looks terrible.” A third added, “Rather watch paint dry.” Some felt Meghan was out of touch, criticizing her for cooking meals that “nobody can afford right now.”

Blogger Meghan McCain also criticized the Duchess of Sussex for being out of touch. “I was originally a Meghan Markle supporter. I thought she was cool, stylish, and refreshing. Like the rest of the world, my opinion changed when she disrespected the royal family. Now that she wants to be American again instead of British aristocracy, what she seems to forget is Americans want real, raw, uncensored,” she expressed her disapproval of the Duchess.
“All of this, even in the trailer, is highly curated, produced, and out of touch. There have been two terror attacks in two days, major wars raging, and Americans can’t pay for groceries. We are a country in rage, uncertainty, and intensity right now,” she added.
Despite the backlash, some fans are eagerly awaiting the series. “You have made my day,” one supporter commented. Others expressed excitement for the upcoming seasons, with one saying, “Such great news! I cannot wait to watch Meghan’s cooking and gardening/lifetime show!”
A sneak peek at the show
The trailer for With Love, Meghan shows the Duchess in her Montecito kitchen, gardening, and engaging with celebrity friends like Mindy Kaling. The series promises to share Meghan’s tips on cooking, gardening, and crafting, with the goal of “connecting with friends” rather than “the pursuit of perfection.”
Netflix describes the show as an exploration of how “even the most minute details can help add beauty to our lives and, most importantly, help bring people together.”
Meghan’s star-studded friends make appearances throughout the series, including her close friend Mindy Kaling, who’s seen enjoying Meghan’s Victoria Sponge cake. Prince Harry, chefs Roy Choi and Alice Waters, and other friends like Suits co-star Abigail Spencer also joined Meghan in the series.
Despite the criticism, Meghan’s loyal fans are thrilled about the new show, with many eager to see her blend of lifestyle tips and celebrity chats.
