Instagram continuously brings features to improve its platform. Now the company is working on a feature in which the story highlights of friends will be brought to the users again. This feature is going to be useful for those people who are not able to view their friends’ Instagram stories on time. Right now Instagram is testing this feature with some users and it can be rolled out in the coming days.
Users can add any photo or short video in Instagram Stories. This story automatically disappears after 24 hours. If users want, they can save this story as ‘highlight’ on their profile. These stories do not get deleted after being saved in Highlights and can be viewed whenever you want.
Where will Stories Highlights be seen?
Instagram will now show these stories highlights at the end of the stories tray in the new feature. Stories tray, i.e. the place where you see the stories of your friends. It is also important to mention here that you will see the stories highlight only when you have seen all the stories of all your friends. When Instagram has no stories left to show you, it will show you stories highlights.
What will be the benefit of this feature?
This feature is part of a bigger initiative by Instagram, in which it wants to show users the content of their friends and family first. Currently the focus of the platform is on reels and algorithm based recommendations. In such situations, many times the story of friends gets missed. To overcome this problem, a new feature is being tested. It may take a lot of time from testing to roll out.
