KOLKATA: Sampriti Flyover, which connects Jinjira Bazar to Batanagar on the southern fringes of the city, will remain closed every night from 10 pm to 6 am for next three months for the Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority to undertake repairs of the flyover’s carriageway surface. The traffic police have chalked up diversion plans for vehicles from Saturday.
The flyover is 6.8 km long. KMDA also plans to replace the damaged expansion joints of the flyover in the next phase. The authorities recently got approval from the urban development department to get funds for the project. As per plans, 12 expansion joints of the Sampriti Flyover, which were found to be in a damaged condition, will be replaced.
