Sikhs pay homage to ex-PM Manmohan Singh at Kolkata gurdwara

Kolkata: The Sikh community in Kolkata on Friday paid homage to former PM Manmohan SinghGurdwara Behala organized an Ardaas prayer in his memory in the morning.In the evening, the members of the community, including the kin of the former PM, held a prayer meet at the Gurdwara.
Satnam Singh Ahluwalia, general secretary of Gurdwara Behala and a member of the West Bengal Minorities Commission, said, “Sardar Dr Manmohan Singh Ji was not just a remarkable economist and leader but also a true embodiment of Sikh values ​​of humility, service, and justice. His demise leaves an irreplaceable void in the nation, we have come together to honor his life and legacy with prayers, remembering his contributions to India and the world.
He was remembered as a leader who epitomized humility, integrity, and service to humanity. “His tenure as the PM was marked by transformative economic reforms, dedication to peace and harmony, and his firm commitment to uphold the secular fabric of India. I had the rare privilege of meeting him on several occasions,” said Ahluwalia.
