New Delhi. Veteran actor Mukesh Khanna’s show ‘Shaktimaan’ was much talked about. In this he used to play the role of a superhero. Recently, Mukesh Khanna spoke openly about refusing Ranveer Singh for the role in the film being made on ‘Shaktimaan’. He cleared the misconceptions regarding his previous statements and explained why he had clearly refused to give the rights of Shaktimaan to Aditya Chopra’s team.

According to the report published in News 18 English, Mukesh Khanna said, ‘It is wrong to say that I made him (Ranveer Singh) wait. He came to meet me with love. This meeting was fixed, which was organized by Sony. Ranveer had come to convince me that he can play the character of Shaktimaan. This was not the first time he has shown interest in this role.

YRF offer was rejected
Mukesh Khanna revealed that production house YRF had shown interest in purchasing the rights of ‘Shaktiman’, but he had refused. He told, ‘Ten years ago, Aditya Chopra’s team contacted me and asked to give the rights of Shaktimaan. At the same time, coincidentally, a photo of Ranveer Singh in Shaktimaan costume went viral on social media. I refused to give them authority, but proposed that they work together with me. I didn’t want them to turn it into a disco drama.

Praising Ranveer Singh, he said, ‘Ranveer is full of energy and he talked to me heart to heart for 3 hours. He told me how he got his first film and also showed me how he would play the character of Shaktimaan. I really wanted to ask him to play the role of Tamraj Kilvish. He wanted to make me believe that he could play the character of Shaktimaan. However, that meeting did not reach any conclusion.
