Tabla player's killer held in Guj brought to city

Kolkata: Alleged serial killer Rahul, also known as Bholu Karmavir Ishwar Jat, who was arrested in Gujarat by the local cops, was brought to Kolkata by GRP in connection with the murder of a disabled tabla player. Rahul was produced in a local Howrah court on Thursday.
The accused was brought from Mumbai on the Geetanjali Express on Wednesday. On Nov 22, the body of tabla player Soumitra Chattopadhyay was found in the specially-abled compartment of the Howrah-bound Down Katihar Express. Rahul, who was directly involved in this incident, was initially arrested by cops in Gujarat for the rape-murder of a woman. Over the past few months, he was involved in five murders besides the tabla player’s.
Rahul told cops he killed the tabla player between Katihar and Malda after a dispute over smoking and looted Rs 10,000 and a phone from him. He went to Tatanagar after getting off at Azimganj and boarded a south India-bound train. tnn
